I sat down with Larissa to talk about her career, the importance of hair, and her collaboration with Luciano.
Alexandre Gilbert: Can you briefly introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your journey in the fashion world?
Larissa Werner: I’m 28 years old, I’ve been working full-time as an influencer and content creator for five years now, and I’ve been modeling for six or seven years. Fashion is my biggest passion, closely followed by beauty. The industry can be overwhelming at times because everything is constantly changing, but I think the most important thing is to stay true to yourself – even when you’re adapting to trends.
What inspired you to become a model and influencer?
Honestly, I never planned to become an influencer – it just kind of happened. I started modeling as a kid, but I truly fell in love with the job when I participated in Miss Switzerland at 17.
Influencing was more of a coincidence. I always liked posting on Instagram – just for fun or to share my modeling photos. During COVID, I started taking it more seriously, and it definitely paid off. A lot of people think it’s easy, but there’s a lot of work behind it – and unfortunately, we often don’t get the recognition we deserve.
How has your style evolved over the years, and what role has your hair played in that?
Oh, my style has completely changed! I used to wear skinny jeans – and now I can’t even imagine it. Oversized is my thing. Since I wear very little makeup, my hair is my feminine trademark. No matter what – my hair has to look perfect; it gives me confidence.
In your opinion, how important is hair for a model’s image?
Hair is everything. It can change your entire appearance – and your confidence along with it. It affects the type of model you are, the brands you can work with… Hair plays a huge role in shaping a model’s image.
Was there a big hair transformation that changed how you see yourself or how your career evolved?
A few years ago, I went from blonde to brunette, and last summer, I wore my natural curls. Both changed my self-perception – not necessarily in a bad way, but now I know I’ll never go brunette again. The curls though? They’ll definitely make a comeback this summer!
Career-wise, I remember my agency asking me to go back to blonde when I had short, dark brown curls. Clients preferred it – and I looked younger. That’s when I realized how much hair impacts perception.
You’ve been a client of Luciano Cimmarrusti since 2020. What first impressed you about his work?
Honestly? I didn’t choose Luciano – Luciano chose me. I came in once for new extensions – and since then, there’s been no other hairdresser for me.
How would you describe the feeling when Luciano does your hair?
I’m convinced he saved my hair. We bleach, apply extensions, remove them again, and yet my hair is healthier and longer than ever. As a girl with natural waves, I’ve been through it all – chemical straightening, bad products, too much heat. Luciano made me feel comfortable without extensions again.
What makes Luciano’s work different from other hairdressers?
First, his honesty. He tells you exactly what’s possible, what isn’t, and what will suit you. Second, his passion. Whether he has one client or eight in a day – he always gives his best.
How has his approach to hair influenced your personal or professional style?
I’ve always been confident, but with my signature blonde, I feel even more like myself. It’s my blonde – the Larissa Blonde. When my hair looks good, I radiate differently.
Can you recall a moment when Luciano’s work had a major impact on your career or confidence?
Definitely our first appointment. My hair was a disaster – bad extensions, damaged hair, multiple colors at once. He worked real magic. I left the salon with long, perfectly colored hair and bangs – and my confidence instantly went to a new level.
Career-wise, my social media journey began around the same time I started going to Luciano. And I think – or hope – that no one remembers what I looked like before. He’s been there from the beginning and shaped my look.
Do you feel like your hair has changed since trusting Luciano?
Absolutely. My hair is thicker, healthier, and longer than ever. And that’s despite bleaching and using extensions. Most women say extensions ruin their hair – not if Luciano does them.
